Elmar André Schneider - casado(a), locutor e comentarista de rádio e televisão, ex-deputado Estadual, ex-secretário da Saúde no município, natural de Estrela - RS, é o novo Prefeito eleito em Estrela-RS pelo partido PTB - 14 - Partido Trabalhista Brasileiro.

Em Estrela, confirmando as pesquisas, Elmar Schneider (PTB) foi eleito com 30,68% dos votos (5.810). Valmor Griebeler (PV) ficou em segundo, com 4.243 votos. Em terceiro lugar, ficou Comandante César, com 3.765 dos votos, em quarto Eduardo Wagner (PSL) com 2.998, em quinto Policial Diego de Castro (DEM), com 1.065 votos, sexto lugar Denise Goulart (PT) com 543 votos e em sétimo, Paulo Argeu Fernandes (PDT), com 511.
